Local Information - Great things to do in Christchurch
Christchurch Dorset Heritage
Linked to its smuggling history and the magnificent eleventh century Priory Church Christchurch is renowned for its rivers and harbour. With many historic locations open to the public including the ruins of Christchurch Castle, the Red House Museum and Highcliffe Castle it is a beautiful and tranquil place to visit.
Sea Fishing & Angling in Christchurch
The River Avon and the famous Royalty Fishery in Christchurch offer excellent sea trout and salmon course fishing, as well as the famous Throop Fishery which is also just a short distance away. All year round beach casting is excellent at Mudeford and Hengistbury Head whilst during Spring and Summer sea angling for bass and grey mullet is good in the lower reaches of Christchurch Harbour.
